The Devatas Parivaara sanctuaries

Tiruvidaimarudur has a Siva: Temple namely Mahalingha Swamy with the Goddess Gujambal Brahath Sundara(in Tamil, it is Ammai Mamulai Perunala).  THE Nandhi in the Temple is one of the largest in the district, it is obvious that it is made of a single stone, this is why it is not weighted more than the Brahdeshwara Temple at Tanjore if it is larger in size than that. There is another Moogambigai Sannathi for "" with Maha Meru. A large number of devotees visit this temple for relief of Bramha hatya Dosha.

Two festivals of the Temple are famous for 10 days - "Thai Poosam" in January-February and the other, Thirukkalyana Uthsavam (utsavam) in Vaigasi Vasantha (May).  63 Aruthra Nayanmar Ula and Darshan( as In Chidambaram) are two other important festivals of the Temple. There are 27 Star, the prince "lingas Ammani mammalian" prakaram Vigragam and Chitra(seal enclosure of a temple) which is full of paint. There are several charitable trusts, one of them being "ArakattaLai Mudhaliyar Pachhiyappa".

Tiruvidaimarudur Pattinathar is the cradle of the Hindu Saint Pattinathar - in the medieval period - whose words are renowned for the realization of the self in Hindu mythology. This temple also known to have given the redemption to the king for his "Pandiya Varaguna DhOsham Brahmahati", and there is a belief still widespread that any kind of evil spirit will exit when you touch the place. It is a popular belief that Lord Mahalingam heals the fool when they circum-walk the temple.
